In 1814, Jean-Joseph Moreau, a young cooper, married the daughter of a winemaker, thus inheriting the oldest Chablis wine house. Driven by a passion for the vine and respect for traditional values, he led the business with a masterful hand and quickly became one of the most important producers in Chablis. He was then a pioneer in the region and his success grew.

Over the years, J. Moreau & Fils has established itself on the international market, becoming a prestigious House acclaimed throughout the world.

Since 1814, J. Moreau & Fils has challenged the Chablis terroir to exalt the very particular expression of its unique grape variety, Chardonnay, and to reveal its signature: that of great, complex and elegant white wines.
